If your Viewer App returns a 404, accepts your password but then fails to log in, or loads and displays no data, navigate to WP Debug Toolkit › Site’s Health and use Fix Permissions on the Viewer Permissions card. The action corrects the directory permissions that cause 404 errors and produces a file-by-file diagnostic for the other two cases.

Repairing a Broken Viewer Install

There are three conditions that indicate a broken Viewer install: the Viewer URL returns a 404, the login page loads but authentication fails, or the Viewer interface loads and shows nothing. Fix Permissions directly resolves the directory permission problem that causes 404 errors. For the other two conditions, it produces a file-level diagnostic that shows the status of each required Viewer file and points you to the next step.

The repair runs through WordPress and requires an administrator account to work. It is not directly accessible via the Viewer URL. Your WordPress admin must be operational to use it.

Step 1: Confirm your symptom. Match what you are seeing to one of the three conditions above. If the Viewer directory no longer exists on disk, skip to a full reinstall: the repair action requires index.php to be present and returns an error if the Viewer is not installed.

Step 2: Run the repair action. Navigate to WP Debug Toolkit › Site’s Health and locate the Viewer Permissions card.
